Topical treatment that can be applied directly to the acne can be as simple as gently rubbing garlic closed on each spot. A less smelly application is a mix of 1 ml each of witch hazel, tea-tree and sweet fennel essential oils plus 300 mls of water. My husband and I have many great photos taken of us in the 1970’s. Our children find them to be quite entertaining. The get a laugh out of our permed hair and platform shoes. I make sure to remind them that their children will soon be laughing at their old photos. I enjoy looking back at these photos. They hold many good memories.

I had a hard time accepting the Mark Spitz look of that time. It involved a hairy chest and gold medallions. Men rushed out to purchase fake chest hair and wigs. The 70’s were a colorful time with bright colors. Event the men where wearing purple and pink.

John Travolta made the 70’s disco look an icon with his role in Saturday Night Fever. He looked great in that white suit! Soon, men everywhere were wearing one. 70’s was about attitude as much as it was about style. The lines of fashion became blurred between men and women including rock stars David Bowie and Marc Bolan. They wore eyeliner, glitter, and colors normally reserved for women.

As the 70’s came to an end, a new fashion started to emerge. Punk music fans showed their safety pins and studded belts. Mohawks for both men and women became popular as did hair in unlikely colors of purple, green, and orange. Torn clothing was encouraged. Big boots similar to those worn on construction jobs were worn by everyone. The punk style began as an underground cult, but ended up mainstream. It saw the end of the disco era and ruffles shirts.

The 20th Century has seen many phases and changes in culture. While the 70’s fashion went out of style, my generation enjoys getting dressed up for a 70’s night to dance.
